One salon for the whole wedding party: nails, brows, tan, lash, waxing and facials in Parnell
Share
If you are getting married in Auckland and you want the whole bridal party looked after in one place, Verdo Nails & More at 245 Parnell Road, Parnell does nails, brows, spray tan, lashes, waxing and skin consultations in one place. Everyone books into the same window instead of driving four people to four different salons across the city. In the depths of bridal season we tend to between 8 and 15 brides a week, our salon is suitable for bridal parties of all sizes, and you more than likely will have the salon to yourselves.
The simplest way to book a group is the Bridal Glow Package, $720 for four people. It covers a manicure and pedicure (gel or classic), brow shaping and tint, and a custom airbrush spray tan, and it is sold for the bride and up to three others. Anything else the group wants, lashes, waxing, extra nail art, goes on the same booking. Call 027 559 0837, email [email protected], or book online at verdonails.co.nz.
Why book the whole wedding party into one salon?
Wedding mornings run on a timetable, and the part that usually goes wrong is transport. One person is at a nail bar in Newmarket, someone else has a lash appointment in Ponsonby, the tan is booked somewhere else again, and the group spends the day in the car instead of together.
We are on Parnell Road, so the party stays close to the city, with cafes and shops on the same street if there is a gap between appointments.
What is in the Bridal Glow Package?
The Bridal Glow Package is $720 for four people and includes, for each person:
- Manicure and pedicure, gel or classic
- Brow shaping and tint
- Custom airbrush spray tan
It is sold for the bride and up to three others, so it suits a small bridal party, or a bride with her mum, sister and one bridesmaid. If your group is bigger than four, that is fine. Tell us the number when you enquire and we will price the rest from our normal service list.
How long does a party of four actually take?
Here are the real times from our service list so you can do the maths yourself. A regular manicure is 30 minutes at $45. A standard pedicure is 30 minutes at $65. A combo eyebrow wax and tint is 30 minutes at $50. A spray tan is 30 minutes at $50. So a full package for one person is around two hours of treatment time, depending on what each person picks.
What that means for a group depends on how many of you are in the chairs at the same time, which depends on the day and the services chosen. Gel adds time. Gel polish on natural nails is 35 minutes for a new set at $55, or 40 minutes at $65 if there is removal and re-application first. A Gel Bottle gel polish manicure is 30 minutes at $75. Builder gel (BIAB) on natural nails is 50 minutes at $80, and with extensions it is 1 hour 15 at $95. Nail art is charged separately, from $20 for level 1 up to $45 for level 3, with a French tip, ombre or chrome add-on at $20 each.
The honest answer is that we cannot promise a finish time from a website. Send us the date, the ceremony time and the list of who wants what, and we will map out the running order and tell you how long to allow before you commit.
What else can the wedding party book on the same day?
Lashes are the common addition. A keratin lash lift is 50 minutes at $90, a lash lift and tint is 1 hour 15 at $105, and an eyelash tint on its own is $30. If you want extensions, classic is 1 hour at $90, hybrid 1 hour 15 at $115, volume 1 hour 30 at $130 and mega 1 hour 45 at $145. Removal on its own is $25.
Waxing can go on the same booking: eyebrow $30, upper lip $20, chin $20, under arms $30, half legs $50, full legs $95, half arms $45, full arms $90, facial wax $65. Groomsmen and dads are welcome too, and we do men's shoulders at $30 and men's upper chest at $50.
For skin, we start with a facial treatment consultation, which is free and takes 10 minutes. That is the right first step rather than booking a treatment blind, especially close to a wedding date. Come in well before the day, not the week of, and we will tell you honestly what does and does not suit your timeframe.
When should we book each thing before the wedding?
Builder gel (BIAB) lasts between two and six weeks, though how long it lasts varies from person to person and with what your hands do all day. That makes it a good option if you want nails done ahead of the wedding week rather than the day before. Gel polish, lash lifts and brow tints are also usually booked ahead rather than on the morning.
Most brides prefer the spray tan a day or two out rather than the wedding morning. Tell us the date and we will work backwards and put everything in a sensible order. Skin appointments should be planned earliest of all.
Will we have the salon to ourselves?
Often, yes. With a bridal party booked in, you more than likely will have the salon to yourselves. It is not something we can guarantee for every date and every time slot, so if having the space to your group matters to you, say so when you book and we will tell you straight whether that date works.
Can we book it for a hens party, a birthday or a girls night?
Yes. The salon is available for hens parties, birthdays and girls nights, not only weddings. It is the same idea: one address, a group booked in together, and a mix of nails, brows, tan and lashes chosen by each person. Ring us with the date, the number of people and a rough idea of what everyone wants.
What we use
We work with The Gel Bottle and CND Shellac for nails, Medik8 for skin, and Pure Fiji and Adashiko for body and skincare. Our builder gel from The Gel Bottle is HEMA-free and TPO-free.
