Which Pure Fiji Products Should You Buy First?
Share
Pure Fiji is the range people fall for by accident. Someone uses it once at a salon, and then they want the whole shelf.
The trouble is that the range is organised by ritual and by scent at the same time, which makes it hard to know where to begin. Here is how we explain it in the salon.
Start with the ritual, not the scent
Pure Fiji body care follows a simple three-step sequence. Buy in this order and each product has something to do.
1. Exfoliate
Pure Fiji Sugar Scrub is the one most people start with, and the one that converts them. Raw cane sugar in a base of cold-pressed oils, used once or twice a week in the shower.
2. Oil, on damp skin
This is the step that makes the difference and the step most people skip. Nourishing Exotic Coconut Oil straight out of the shower, while skin is still wet, is the whole trick.
3. Seal
Hydrating Body Lotion for everyday lightness, or Nourishing Body Butter where skin is roughest. Elbows, heels, shins in winter.
If you want just one product to try the brand, make it the scrub or the oil. Those two do the most work.
Then choose your scent
Most of the classic range comes in several infusions, and the choice is genuinely personal. As a rough guide:
- Coconut is the signature and the safest gift. Warm, creamy, unmistakably Pacific.
- Citrus and Mokosoi is the newest arrival and the freshest of the family: bright citrus over a soft island floral. The full line is here, including a Citrus & Mokosoi Shower Gel and Citrus & Mokosoi Sugar Scrub, plus the Citrus & Mokosoi Body Oil.
- Coconut Lime Blossom sits between the two, and shows up in the Hydrating Hand Creme.
Buying it as a gift
If you are shopping for someone else, scent is the risky variable and ritual is the safe one. A scrub and an oil in the same infusion is a hard combination to get wrong. The Coconut Milk Bath Soak is the other reliable choice for someone who actually uses their bath.
A note on the oils
Pure Fiji builds most of the range on cold-pressed coconut, dilo, macadamia and sikeci nut oils, grown and pressed in Fiji. That is the reason the textures feel different from a supermarket body lotion, and it is also why a little goes further than you expect.
