If you know Pure Fiji, you know the infusions: coconut, mango, guava, white gingerlily, the classics that smell like a holiday. But there is one infusion that almost never makes it to New Zealand shelves, and it happens to be the one we get asked about: Starfruit.

The one that got away (repeatedly)

We tried to bring the Starfruit infusion in through the usual channels and kept coming up empty. Every time we went looking, it was out of reach in New Zealand. As far as we could find, nobody had it on a shelf.

So on our last trip to Fiji, we solved it the old-fashioned way: we went to the source and carried a small batch home ourselves.

What it actually is

This is the same Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion (300ml) our regulars already use, in the hard-to-find Starfruit infusion. The base formula is what Pure Fiji does best: a blend of cold-pressed coconut, dilo, macadamia and sikeci nut oils in a light, fast-absorbing lotion for everyday softness.

The Starfruit part is the scent, and it is lovely: fresh, lightly sweet-tart and green, more crisp than creamy. If the coconut infusions are a beach afternoon, Starfruit is the cool drink at the end of it.

How limited is limited?

Honestly: a handful of bottles. This was a suitcase run, not a shipping container. When they are gone, we will try to get more, but we cannot promise when, or if, that will happen.
